A Sonnet on Infinity

In the cosmos so magnificent and vast,
We get a glorious glimpse of you.
In the winds of time blowing so fast,
You present yourself sans all ado.

As the love of a mother for her child,
You make us everything that is human.
As hope when difficulties get piled,
We look upon you as a great numen.

For millions, you are the ultimate truth.
An awe-inspiring redeemer, indeed, a hero.
An infinity of infinities exist, in sooth.
Yet, you all cower before the humble zero!

Perhaps, you are just a figment of our stupidity.
Or perhaps, you are the depth of our curiosity.
